Warren Laverne Scott, 72, of Crosby, Texas and formerly of Wind Ridge, Pa. died at 11:30 p.m. Thursday, April 22, 2010 in his home after a seven month battle with a cancer related illness.He was born July 8, 1937 in Gray Twp. Greene Co. Pa. a son of the late Warren Elmer and Ella Irene Burns Scott.He was Catholic by faith.Mr. Scott was a 1955 graduate of West Greene High School in Rogersville, Pa. and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1971.He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and Air Force Reserves.Mr. Scott was a former employee of Occidental Oil in Peru where he resided from 1972 until returning the U.S. in 1986 and was last employed as an accountant with Exxon in Houston, Texas prior to his retirement.Surviving are his wife, Liduvina (Linda) Scott of Crosby, Texas; two sons, Warren Lee Scott of Houston, Texas and Michael, husband of Dorothy Annette Scott of Highland Village, Texas, two daughters, Teresa, wife of Daniel Paul Hejlik of The Woodlands, Texas and Dawn Etta, wife of Paul Graytok of Canonsburg, Pa.; a sister, Ellen Jean Clem of The Woodlands, Texas; eight grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren.Deceased in addition to his parents two sons,Thomas Edward Scott who died in infancy and Charles William Scott.Graveside military rites will be accorded by representatives of the U.S. Air Force and the American Legion Post 330, V.F.W. Post 4753, and the D.A.V. Post 123 all of Waynesburg.
