Virginia "Jenny" S. (DeLorme) DeKort

Virginia “Jenny” S. (DeLorme) DeKort, age 96, of Rogersville, passed away Monday, August 12, 2024, at Waynesburg Health & Rehab.

Born January 8, 1928, in Wallaceburg, Ontario, Canada, daughter of the late Napoleon and Lucille (Ranger) DeLorme.

Jenny attended Our Lady of Help of Christians School in Wallaceburg, Ontario, Canada, until the eighth grade when she had to leave to go to work to help her family. She was employed with Dominion Glass as a Packer for five years until her retirement in 1967. Jenny moved to Marienville after her retirement and that’s where she was the happiest taking care of her family and home. She moved to Georgia in 1982 for a bit before moving back to the Pittsburgh area. Jenny enjoyed bowling, Christian women, and was passionate about her sports.

She is survived by her darling children, David DeKort, of Barrie, Ontario, Canada and Kim (David) Keith, of Snohomish, Washington; grandchildren, Jaimie (Steve) Borzaga, of Brampton, Ontario, Canada, Kevin (Alisha) DeKort, of Barrie, Ontario, Canada Wendy DeKort, of Crescent, Pennsylvania, Megan (Mike) Goodwin, of Rogersville, Pennsylvania, Brandon (Ruthann) Keith, of Bothell, Washington, and Andy (Chelsea) Keith, of San Diego, California; great grandchildren, Lucy Zubeck, Gage DeKort, Gavin DeKort, Grady Goodwin, Sam Keith, Oliver Keith, and Jackson Keith; sister, Theresa Russelo/Denning; sisters-in-law, Betty (John) Williams and Rosie DeWeyn; many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, August DeKort, who passed in 1985; darling son, Larry DeKort; brothers, Bob (Muriel), Dick (Marilyn), Brookie (Shirley), and Joe DeLorme; sister, Stella (George) O’Connor; daughter-in-law, Paula DeKort; brother-in-law, Phillip (Judy) DeKort; sisters-in-law, Anne (Roger) Holmes and Martha (Edwin) Bird.
