Shirley Ruth Fisher Campsey, 88, of Hawthorne Woods, Washington, Pa. and formerly of Claysville, Pa., died at 2:37 A. M. on Friday, May 19, 2006 at Hawthorne Woods Assisted Living Community, South Strabane Twp., Washington County, Pa.She was born September 19, 1917 in Pittsburgh, Pa., a daughter of the late Wilbur P. and Ruth Bering Fisher.Mrs. Campsey was a member of the Claysville United Presbyterian Church for the past 65 years where she had been a member of the Church choir.She was a 1935 graduate of Dormont High School and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1939 from Westminster College, New Wilmington, Pa. She also studied art at Carnegie Mellon UniversityMrs. Campsey was a Past Worthy Matron of Evening Star Chapter No. 187 O. E. S. of Claysville. She loved to play "bridge" and "Scrabble" with friends and was devoted to her children and grandchildren.On April 2, 1940 in Mt. Lebanon, she married her college sweetheart, David McMillen Campsey, who died May 9, 1997.Surviving are a son, David F. husband of Mary Campsey of Claysville; two daughters, Jill C. wife of Donald Miller of Claysville and Lynn Campsey, wife of Bill Clutter of Oakland, Fla. and Avon Lake, Ohio; nine grandchildren, D. Michael Campsey, Donald R. Miller, Jennifer C. Marsh, Daniel J. Miller, McMillen Clutter, Emily C. Hillebrand, McLain Clutter, Molly L. Campsey and Laurel A. Miller; 10 great grandchildren, Emma, Madison and Sara Campsey, David and John Marsh, Lilly Hillebrand, Ashton, Anna and Gavin Miller and Sadie Clutter. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Odyssey Hospice.
