Sandra A. (Ankrom) Scott

Sandra A. (Ankrom) Scott, age 75, of West Finley, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.

Born September 2, 1948, in Waynesburg, daughter of the late Albert and Betty (Ward) Ankrom.

Sandra was a Washington County resident most of her life. She graduated from Waynesburg High School in 1967. Sandra had various jobs when she was younger, but she was a homemaker for the past 35 years. She married Roger Scott on September 2, 1968, and they were happily married for 55 years. Sandra enjoyed baking, cooking, sewing, collecting trivets, angels, and windchimes. Most of all she loved spending time with family and friends.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Jody Thomas, Bryan (Tammi) Scott, both of Washington, and Eric (Joanne) Scott, of Purcellville, VA; eight grandchildren, William Thomas, of West Finley, Levi and Jacob Thomas, both of Clarksville, Samantha (Josh) Wise, Elijah (Kimber) Scott, Taylor Scott, Robert Byrd, and Ryan Byrd, all of Washington; three great grandchildren, Owen Wise, Liam Scott, and Lilly Bowland; seven siblings, Wayne (Patty) Ankrom, of Waynesburg, Robert “Bob” (Ludy) Ankrom, of Peoria, IL, Charles (Debra) Ankrom and Maxine (Jerry) Rutan, both of Waynesburg, Donise (Scott Zollars) Ankrom, of Hickory, Brenda (Rusty) McClellan, of New Freeport, and Richard (Dee) Ankrom, of OH; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four siblings, Leonard Ankrom, Edward Ankrom, Patricia Sue Loughman, and a baby brother in infancy.
