Ruth A. Blake Stewart, 56, of Waynesburg (Center Twp.), Pa. died at 4:25 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2011 in the Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, of multiple organ failure following heart surgery.She was born September 5, 1954 in Waynesburg, Pa. a daughter of the late George Alexander and Kathryn Moore Blake and had resided in Jackson Twp. most of her life prior to moving to Center Twp. in 1967.Mrs. Stewart was a member of the former Holbrook Christian Church, but has been a member and former Sunday school teacher and choir member at the First Church of the Nazarene in Waynesburg for the past several years.She was a 1972 graduate of West Greene High School.Mrs. Stewart was a member of the Washington Cruisers and enjoyed reading, movies, motorcycle riding and photographing different sunsets.She was a former employee of Dr. Melvin Butler and Dr. Shirish B. Desai prior to being employed by Home Depot in Washington for approximately 10 years, retiring in Janaury.On June 2, 1973 she married John Raymond Stewart who survives.Also surviving is a son, Jeremy A. Stewart of Canonsburg; a sister, Linda, wife of Tom Horr of St. Helen, Michigan; a brother, Keith, husband of Jeanie Blake of Carmichaels; several nieces and nephews.
