Ruth Eleanor Morris

Ruth Eleanor Morris, age 82, of Claysville, passed away Wednesday, April 19, 2023, in her home with her family by her side.

Born May 24, 1940, in Carrollton, OH, the daughter of the late Frank and Lucille (Grinach) Pierson.

Ruth lived in Holbrook most of her adult life until she moved to Claysville. Ruth was employed with C&L Bus Cove as a Bus Driver for 10 years until her retirement in 2012. She married Russell Morris on January 31, 1965, and they were happily married for 42 years until his passing on March 3, 2007. She enjoyed working on the farm and telling her farm stories. Ruth loved her grandchildren more than anything.

Ruth is survived by three grandchildren, Matt (Joy) Morris, Adam (Faith) Straight, and Timothy (Shalynn) Straight; nine great grandchildren; two siblings, George Pierson and John (Sue) Pierson.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Tammi Johnson and her grandson, Michael Straight.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, from 11-1 PM at Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home, LLC. 3275 W. Roy Furman Hwy. Rogersville, PA 15359. Telephone: 724-499-5181, where the funeral service will be held directly after with Pastor Gary Crawford, officiating. Burial will follow at Braddock Cemetery.
