Robert L. "Billy" Lemmon, 93, of Jackson Twp. (Nettle Hill) Greene Co. Pa. died at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, April 4, 2009 in the Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg, Pa. after being in failing health for the past two years.He was born December 22, 1915 in Jackson Twp. as son of Charles Marvin and Mary "Lissie" Hennen Lemmon and has been a resident of Jackson Twp. all his life. Mr. Lemmon has been a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church at Nettle Hill since childhood, and was a member of the cemetery board, a former assistant superintendent and a trustee and was a 1933 graduate of Waynesburg High School.He was a veteran of World War II where he served as a Tech 4 in the U.S.Army.He was a self employed farmer all his life and was also employed as a carpenter, plumber and brick layer.On November 1, 1945 he married Madeline Shough who survives.Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.Deceased in addition to his parents are three brothers, Edward, Guy and Luke Lemmon; two sisters, Ethel Pettit and Mary Elizabeth Mansfield.Mr. Lemmon was the last of his immediate family.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Bethany U.M.
