Mona Lou (Martin) Beatty

Mona Lou (Martin) Beatty, age 86, of Claysville, passed away Monday, February 3, 2025, at Greenery Center for Rehab and Nursing, Canonsburg.

Born March 22, 1938, in Greene County, daughter of the late Earl and Evelyn (Supler) Martin.

Mona Lou had been a Washington County resident since 2002 after moving from Streetsboro, OH. She graduated from Claysville High School in 1956. Mona Lou was a member of the Roadside Chapel Church in Claysville. She married Floyd E. Beatty on April 4, 1970, and they were happily married for 53 years until his passing on November 4, 2023. Mona Lou was employed at Presbyterian Home as their Housekeeper for 15 years until she retired in 1970. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, and working on jigsaw puzzles.

She is survived by two siblings, William Martin, of Washington and Sandra (Bob) Boyle, of Youngstown, OH; many nieces and nephews; and her friend, Sarah Shape.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four siblings, Edward, David, and Donley Martin and Emma Jo Breese.

Friends and family will be received on Friday, February 7, 2025, from 3-8 PM at Rolling Hills Chapel Church, 214 Timber Lake Rd. Claysville, PA 15323. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the church with Rev. Jill Briggs, officiating. Burial will follow at Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg.
