Martin "Marty" Coffield, 94, of Waynesburg and formerly of Center Twp., died at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 10, 2006 in the Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg, Pa. He was born February 28, 1912 in Limestone, W.Va. a son of John Robert and Mary Belle Cunningham Coffield and had formerly resided in Graysville and Waynesburg prior to moving to Center Twp. in 1977 where he lived until returning to Waynesburg in 2003.Mr. Coffield was a member of the First Christian Church in Waynesburg.He was the former owner and operator of the Graysville Service Station and Garage and was later employed as a transmission and carburetor specialist by the Waynesburg Oldsmobile and Pontiac garage for 12 years, and the former Miller Chevy and Cadillac dealership and was last employed by Bortz Chevrolet for 25 years prior to retiring.Mr. Coffield enjoyed gardening. On January 8, 1938 he married Mary Ellen Crow Coffield who died on August 23, 2000.Surviving are one son, Larry M. Coffield, companion of Kay Mooney, of Waynesburg; two grandsons, Doug and David Coffield; two great grandchildren, Samantha and C.J. Coffield; and several nieces and nephews.Deceased in addition to his wife are four brothers, Lester, Floyd, Harry and Charles C.
