Martha "Jen" Jane Dorsey

Martha “Jen” Jane (Shape) Dorsey, age 84, of Claysville, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Presbyterian Senior Care, Washington, PA.

Born on February 5, 1932 at Mt. Hope Ridge (Independence Twp.) she was the daughter of the late Orris Rezin and Mabel Pearl (Shipe) Shape.

Martha graduated in 1949 from Claysville High School. She moved from Morris Twp. to East Finley Twp. with her husband in 1976. Early in her career, she was a secretary for the one room schoolhouse committee in East Finley Twp. From 1988-1994 Martha co-owned the former R.F.D. store in East Finley Twp. Martha was a member of the Fairmount United Methodist Church. She was a history buff on East Finley Twp. She was very active in the East Finley Twp. Covered Bridge Festival every year and was a leader of the Lucky Clovers 4-H Club for over 15 years. She also was a former member of an Alpine Bowling league. Martha enjoyed flowers and gardening. Above all, she was a caring Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother.

Surviving are her four children, Richard (Laura) Dorsey, Sr., of East Finley Twp., PA, Frank (Donna) Dorsey, of East Finley Twp., PA, Thomas Dorsey, of Prosperity, PA, and Rebecca (Bob) Matthews, of East Finley Twp., PA; six grandchildren, Rachelle (Jim) Anderson, Damian Dorsey, Richard M.(Brandy) Dorsey, Jr., Hali (Chris) Norris, John (Amy) and Joshua Phillips; five great-grandchildren, Morgan (Bryan) Ewing, Ricky Dorsey, III., Caroline Dorsey, Nathan Dorsey and Brock Norris; one sister, Edna Calvert, of Claysville, PA; one brother, William (Marge) Shape, of Washington, PA; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Floyd “Toby” Wayne Dorsey, who passed away on February 25, 2001; granddaughter, Jacie Rae Phillips; and brother, John Shape.

Friends will be received on Friday, October 28, 2016 from 3-8 P.M. at the Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home, LLC., 3275 W. Roy Furman Hwy., Rogersville, PA. 15359. (724) 499-5181. A Funeral Service will held at the funeral home on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Paul Thomas, officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairmount Cemetery.
