Margaret Finnegan

Margaret Jane Welling Finnegan, 94, of Ashland, Ohio and formerly of Aleppo Twp. Greene Co. Pa. died at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2012 in the Kingston of Ashland Nursing Home in Ashland after being in failing health for the past several years.She was born June 13, 1917 in Greene Co. Pa. a daughter of the late William and Sarah Jane Yoders Welling and had resided in the Ashland area for approximately 30 years.Mrs. Finnegan attended the former Sugar Grove Union Church in McCracken.She was an employee of the former Buckhiemers Leather Factory in Cameron, W.Va., Meyers Laundry in Ashland and was last employed as a teacher aid (grandma) in the pre-school system of the Ashland School District for several years prior to retiring in 2002.Mrs. Finnegan enjoyed baking and selling homemade bread, quilting, sewing and making clothing for her family and playing solitaire.Surviving are her children, Leota Hewitt of West Finley, Pa., Evelyn Harrington of Warren, Ohio, June Sim of Claysville, Pa., Kathy Williams of Savanna, Ohio, Wilma, wife of William Doxtator of Wisconsin, Gordon, husband of Donna Finnegan of Warren, Ohio, Ronald Barrett Finnegan of Ashland, Ohio and Ralph, husband of Sue Finnegan of Conroe, Texas; 23 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.Deceased in addition to her parents are four sons, Fred Leroy, Daniel Reid, Harold and Pete Finnegan; two granddaughters, Pamela and Karen Finnegan; a great granddaughter, Nicole Arbogast; a great great grandson, Trenton Finnegan; two brothers, William and Paul Welling; two sisters, Hazel Henry and Pearl Beatty.Mrs. Finnegan was the last of her immediate family.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Hospice of Northern Ohio, 1050 Bauch Dr., Ashland, Ohio 44805.
