Lloyd A. Parson, 66, of Holbrook, Pa. R.D.#1 (Pine Bank), died unexpectedly at 9:00 a.m. Monday, September 8, 2003 in his home.He was born July 7, 1937 in Richhill Township (Ryerson Station), Greene County, Pa. a son of George Dewey and Doris Elsie Tharp Parson.Mr. Parson was a former resident of Jollytown but had resided in Pine Bank most of his life.He was Protestant.Mr. Parson was a peacetime veteran of the U.S. Army where he served as a Specialist Fourth Class with the 14th Armored Calvary Regiment and was awarded a lifetime membership with the Border Patrol of the regiment for service rendered while stationed in Germany.He was former employee of Penn D.O.T. and was last employed by Texas Eastern Gas Company (Duke Energy) for 26 years as an equipment operator and truck driver prior to his retirement in 1994.Mr. Parson enjoyed hunting, traveling, football, baseball and the time he spent with the staff and community at Rush Grocery Video in Rogersville.He was a member of the Moose Lodge and the B.P.O.E. both in Waynesburg.On November 23, 1963 he married Susan Jane Cumberledge Parson who died June 16, 1992.Surviving are three sisters, Carol Dene Goodwin of Sycamore, Pa. R.D.#1, Donnis Hoy of Spraggs, Pa. and Dixie Orndoff of Rogersville, Pa.; several nieces and nephews.Deceased are three children who all died in infancy. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association or the charity of your choice.
