Larry R. Jordan, 64, of West Alexander, Pa. died at 9:20 p.m. Sunday, August 12, 2012 in The Donnell House, Washington, Pa. following a lengthy illness.He was born June 5, 1948 in Washington, Pa. a son of the late Harry Richard and Juanita Mundine Stallings Jordan and had been a resident of the West Alexander area since 1981.Mr. Jordan was an active member of the West Alexander United Methodist Church.He attended Trinity High School.Mr. Jordan was a veteran of the Viet Nam War where he served with the U.S. Army as a SP-4 with Co S, SCH, BDE, USASCS, 1st USA.He was a member of the West Alexander American Legion Post 656.Mr. Jordan was employed as a craneman with the former Jessop Steel (Allegheny Ludlum) Corp. in Washington for over 21 years, and has been the owner/operator of Jordan Farm Equipment since 1982. On January 3, 1981 he married Theda M. Cummins who survives.Also surviving are a son, Gary Jordan of West Pittsburgh, Pa.; a daughter, Brenda, wife of Ronald Sprowls of Pleasant Grove; three sisters, Shirley Cumer of Houston, Texas, Leona, wife of Bud Gibson of Washington and Edna, wife of Tom Yount of Pasadena, Texas; 7 grandchildren, Gary Jordan, Jr., Stacia and Zachary Jordan, Jessica Perkins, Josie Blake, Roni Sue and Jordan Sprowls; 5 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.Deceased in addition to his parents is a cousin, Edward Ulanosky, whom his parents raised as a child.The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the United Methodist Men, c/o West Alexander United Methodist Church, PO Box 302, West Alexander, Pa. 15376.
