Kathern C. Burns

Kathern C. Burns, 98, of East Finley Twp., died at 5:45 am Monday, August 12, 2019 in the Standish Assisted Living, Washington, Pa, of age-related illnesses.

She was born December 1, 1920 in Independence, Pa., a daughter of the late Alvin Murray and Jane Mary Adams Craig and had resided in East Finley Twp. most of her life.

Kathern was a member of the Enon Baptist Church and attended Avella High School.

She was a former employee of the former Brownlee and Maze Nursing Homes, the former Hazel Atlas Glass Plant in Washington and was last employed as a Custodian at the Moon Twp. Elementary School.

On October 26, 1963 she married Lloyd Eugene Burns who died May 28, 1987.

Kathern is survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Deceased in addition to her parents and husband are a sister, Faye Craig Kress and her twin brother, John Alexander (Alex) Craig.

She was the last of her immediate family.

Family and friends will be received from 11 a.m. until time of funeral and committal services at 1 p.m. Friday, August 16, 2019 in the Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home, LLC. 3275 W. Roy Furman Hwy.
