Joseph Randy Hewitt

Joseph Randy Hewitt, age 72, of Graysville, passed away, Thursday, October 19, 2023, in his home with his family by his side.

Born December 13, 1950, in Greenwood, SC., son of the late Don Thompson and Bernice Irene (Toland) Hewitt.

Joseph had been a Greene County resident since 1974. He graduated from Wade-Hampton High School, Greenville, SC., in 1971. Joseph was a member of Enon Baptist Church as the Trustee. He was an employee for Greene County Memorial Hospital as an Orderly for over 19 years until his retirement in 2013. Joseph was also a former employee of Woodlawn Cemetery in Greenville, SC and the 4 Seasons Campgrounds. He was a former member of Graysville Volunteer Fire Department, along with Richhill Township Ambulance EMT and Morris Township Volunteer Fire Department. Joseph enjoyed NASCAR, the Steelers, and hiking. He was a Civil War enthusiast and an avid lover of mowing grass.

He is survived by his three children, Sarah (Raymond) Gerber, of Fayetteville, NC., Samantha Kay Hewitt, and Rachel Irene (Anthony) Sage, both of Arnold; five grandchildren, Drake Allen Warren, Adrian, Maddison, and Nolan Sage, and Jules Hege; one sister, Marjorie Joan Hewitt, of Graysville.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his two wives, Patricia Ann Bowers, who passed on April 14, 1981 and Diana Carroll, who passed in 2018; one brother, Larry W. Hewitt.

Friends and Family will be received on Monday, October 23, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home, LLC. 3275 W. Roy Furman Hwy. Rogersville, PA 15359. Telephone: 724-499-5181. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at 1:00 PM in the funeral home with Pastor Lanny Hewitt, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Richhill Twp.
