Jack S. Gillogly, 89, of Holbrook, Pa., went to be with his lord on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 11:20 a.m. in the Golden Living Center, Waynesburg, Pa. following a brief illness.
He was born on April 1, 1926 in Holbrook, a son of the late Andrew and Mary Scott Gillogly and had resided in Holbrook for most of his life.
Mr. Gillogly attended the former Fallen Timber School in Holbrook, Pa. and was a lifetime member of the Macedonia Baptist Church.
He was enlisted in the United States Navy as a construction worker where he was stationed in the Philippines from 1940 to 1943.
Mr. Gillogly was employed as a truck driver for the former Wilson Sawmill in Graysville, Pa., for 20 years prior to retiring in 1988.
He enjoyed gardening and hunting.
In December of 1946 he married Faith Louise Stockdale who died on July 3, 2013.
Surviving is a daughter, Linda Porter of Holbrook; three grandchildren, Andy Gillogly, Mike and C.J. Porter; eight great grandchildren, Justin, Devin, and Bryant Gillogly, Nicole Garber, Ashlynn Gillogly, Tyler and Tucker Porter, and Cadyn Porter; and a brother, Bill Gillogly of Aliquippa, Pa.
Deceased in addition to his parents and wife are three sons, Robert L., Kim S., and Jack S. Gillogly; a grandson, Brian Lee Gillogly, a granddaughter, Becky Garber; and three sisters, Ginevra Huffman, Jeanette Staggers, and Hope Gump.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday in the Rush Funeral Home, Inc. Rogersville, Pa. where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 12, 2015 with Pastor Gary Crawford officiating. Interment will follow in Bethany Cemetery.
