Helen M. (Newman) Hunt

Helen M. (Newman) Hunt, age 72, of West Finley, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2025, in Reynolds Memorial Hospital in Glen Dale, WV.

Born November 17, 1952, in Waynesburg, daughter of the late Sherman and Bertha (Rayl) Newman.

Helen had been a resident of West Finley for the past 35 years, but she had lived in Greene County for most of her life. She enjoyed gardening and hunting. 

She is survived by three children, Doug (Teresa) Hunt, of Wind Ridge, Larry (Dottie) Hunt, of Greensboro, and Jennifer (Richard) Courtwright, of Cameron, WV; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and two siblings, Mary Jane Leichter, of Carmichaels and Harold (Kathy) Newman, of Graysville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three siblings, Patty Rogers, Glenn Newman and a brother in infancy.

Friends and family will be received on Thursday, February 13, 2025, from 3-7 PM at Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home, LLC. 3275 W. Roy Furman Hwy. Rogersville, PA 15359. Telephone: 724-499-5181, where a funeral will be held directly after with Rev. Joseph Rearick, officiating. Burial will be private.
