Hazel Hughes Stockdale, 85, of Pinellas Park, Florida and formerly of Greene Co. (Holbrook) Pa. died at 6:15 a.m. Thursday, February 11, 2010 in St. Anthony's Hospital, St. Petersburg, Fl.She was born March 13, 1924 in Aleppo Twp. Greene Co. Pa. a daughter of Albert Charles and Olive Celeste Weimer Hughes and had been a resident of Pinellas Park since 1956.Mrs. Stockdale was an active member of the Pinellas Park Community Center, held a bowling average of 150 and was an avid bingo player as long as her health permitted.She was a 1942 graduate of Aleppo High School and 1944 graduate of West Virginia Business School(Fairmont College).Mrs. Stockdale was a former employee of the I.R.S. in Pittsburgh and First National Bank in Waynesburg.On July 9, 1951 she married George Raymond "Mike" Stockdale who died May 22, 1993.Surviving is a daughter, Linda, wife of Danny McCurdy of St. Petersburg, Fl.; two grandchildren, Michelle Kunitzer of St. Petersburg and Daniel McCurdy of Key West, Fl.; three great grandchildren, Cameron, MacKenna and Kyla Kunitzer; two sisters, Mabel Miller of Rogersville, Pa. and Dorothy, wife of Dwight Durbin of West Alexander, Pa.; several nieces and nephews.Deceased in addition to her parents and husband are a son who died in infancy; four sisters, Alma Riggs, Evelyn Throckmorton, Mary Jane and Mary Lou Hughes; two brothers, Harold W. (Pete) Hughes, Sr. and James A. Hughes.
