Geraldine "Gerry" Stewart

Geraldine “Gerry” Stewart, age 95, of Waynesburg, PA, passed away with her family by her side on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Rolling Meadows Nursing & Rehabilitation, Waynesburg, PA.

Born June 4, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Hicey Ray and Ada (Hamilton) Stewart.

Gerry graduated from Rogersville High School in 1941. She attended Mason Felix Beauty School and was employed as a beautician in Waynesburg and Washington, PA. Gerry was also a cashier at A&P Grocery and Acme Grocery in Waynesburg, PA for 28 years until retiring in 1976. She was a member of the Willow Grove Baptist Church, where she played the piano, was a Sunday school teacher and the church clerk. Gerry loved animals, her dogs were her faithful companions.
She was survived by one nephew, Carl Tustin, of Waynesburg, PA; one great-niece, Carla (Dave) Jacobs, of Graysville, PA; one great-nephew, Travis (Tracy) Tustin, of Waynesburg, PA; a great-great niece, Ashley Rogers, of Graysville, PA; a great-great nephew, Tyler Rogers, of Graysville, PA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Nelrose S. Tustin and Helen Marie Stewart.

Friends may be received on Sunday, December 3, 2017 from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. at Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home, LLC., 3275 W. Roy Furman Hwy. Rogersville, PA 15359. Telephone: 724-499-5181. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 4, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Scott A. Blair, III., officiating. Interment will follow at Rosemont Cemetery, Center Twp., PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Greene County, 183 Jefferson Rd., Waynesburg, PA 15370.
