Erwin D. Mitchell, 73, of Elkton, Md. and formerly of Euclid, Oh. and Greene County, Pa. died at 12:35 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2005 at the home of his son, Douglas Mitchell in West Farmington, Oh. after being in failing health since December 2000.He was born February 25, 1932 in Waynesburg, Pa. a son of Roscoe Miller and Katie Amelia Hamilton Mitchell and had resided in Chardon, Oh. and Wilmington, De. prior to moving to Maryland in 1990. Mr. Mitchell was a 1950 graduate of John Adams High School in Cleveland, Oh. He was a veteran of the Korean War where he served with the U.S. Army as T/SGT. And he was a member of American Legion Post #0004 in Wilmington, De. Mr. Mitchell was employed as a tool and die maker with A.M. in Euclid, Oh. for twenty seven years and was last employed by the former I.C.I. America in Wilmington, De. prior to retiring in 1997 due to an industrial accident.Surviving are a son Douglas husband of Susan Wilson Mitchell of West Farmington, Oh.; two daughters, Jeannine wife of Ron Eging of Chardon Oh. and Jeannelle Mitchell of Mentor, Oh.; three grandsons, Daniel, Benjamin, and Samuel Mitchell; three brothers, Vernon R. of West Olive, Mi., Charles W. of Georgetown, Ky. and James Stanley Mitchell of Wilmington, De. Deceased are two sisters, Winifred Jane Mitchell and Nellie Mitchell Torrone; and two brothers, Rev. Kenneth V. Mitchell and Gerald Mitchell.
