Emerson Alt Snee, Jr., 76, of Wind Ridge, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 31, 2016, in his home, with his loving wife and family by his side.
He was born April 16, 1940, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Emerson Alt Snee Sr. and May O. McConnell.
Mr. Snee resided in Wind Ridge for the majority of his life.
He served his country proudly in the U.S. Coast Guard, traveling to Antarctica, New Zealand and Fiji on the USCGC Eastwind and to Portugal/Spain on the USCGC Eagle sail ship.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Snee was employed for 24 years by Paul Mueller Co., Springfield, Mo., as U.S. National sales manager and regional sales manager for the dairy farm equipment division.
For the last 10 years, he was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church, Graysville, where he served as treasurer of the administrative board.
Mr. Snee was also president of Greene County Senior Bowling League for the last 10 years.
He enjoyed watching football, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers, hunting with his sons and extended family, Caribbean cruises with family, bowling, spending time with family and the natural beauty of his land/farm. The joys of Mr. Snee’s life were his wife, his family and his farm, Easy Acres, which was his own heaven on earth.
Surviving are his loving wife of 55 years, Roberta L. Jackson Snee of Wind Ridge; his children, Doug (Marian) Snee of Waynesburg, Bonnie Headley of Iowa City, Iowa, Emerson (Marci) Snee III of Waynesburg, Michelle (Brian) Hefner of Raymore, Mo., Mindy (Todd) Nelson of Jefferson City, Mo., Candi (Josh) Johnson of Lake Ozark, Mo., and Dan McConnell of Wheeler, N.Y., who he raised and loved like a son; his grandchildren, Ryan and Erica Snee, Tyler, Tara and Ashlyn Headley, Emily, Sarah and Casey Snee, Justin and Austin Buckley, Celinda Hefner, Hayes and Parker Nelson and Keegan Johnson; and a brother, Ronald (Joyce) Snee of Arizona.
Friends and family are welcome from 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday in Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home LLC., 3275 West Roy Furman Highway, P.O. Box 434, Rogersville, PA 15359, 724-499-5181. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, September 4, in Fairview United Methodist Church, Graysville, with Pastor Nelson Boone officiating.
