Duane E. Blackmon, 48, of Holbrook, Pa. died unexpectedly Wednesday, June 1, 2011.He was born February 16, 1963 in Waynesburg, Pa. a son of Nancy Jane Dowler Frost of Holbrook.Mr. Blackmon was a 1981 graduate of West Greene High School.He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he served for 23 years, retiring as a TSGT with the Security Police in 2009. He had served combat tours in Irag and Aphganistan.Mr. Blackmon was a life member of the V.F.W. Post 2121 in Greeley, Colorado.He enjoyed the outdoors, drag racing and mud bogs, was a Ford enthusiast, and also enjoyed playing the guitar and harmonica.Mr. Blackmon was a former employee of Henkle McCoy and at the time of his death had been employed as an equipment operator and laborer with Randy Main Construction since the fall of 2010.Surviving in addition to his mother is his step-father, Carl Frost; a son, Wade Blackmon all of Holbrook; a step-daughter, Paige Palmer of Aleppo, Pa.; three brothers, Frankie Blackmon of Elyria, Ohio, Frankie Frost of Holbrook and Roger Frost of Atlanta, Ga.; a sister, Dawn, wife of Tim Horr of Holbrook; two nieces, Randi Blackmon and Katie Horr; one nephew, Adam Horr.Deceased are his grandparents, Raymond Dowler, Jeff and Vergie Glover Dye.
