David E. Piper

David E. Piper, age 62, of New Freeport, passed away, Saturday, September 14, 2024, at home with his family by his side.

Born December 18, 1961, in Morgantown, WV., son of the late Luther Ellsworth and Ellen (Yeager) Piper.

David had resided in Greene County most of his life. He was a member of the Church of Christ in New Freeport. David married Rhonda Sappington on August 19, 1981, and they were happily married for 43 years. He was previously employed with Randy Main for several years before becoming a Foreman for Geo Energy Tech Services for eight years until he retired this year. David enjoyed hunting, fishing, gambling, and hanging out with friends.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Deshawnda (Richie) Bissett, of Deep Valley, Bub (Melissa) Piper, of New Freeport, and Roshelle Piper, of Moundsville, WV.; four grandchildren, Deshaylah Bissett, of Philadelphia, Cayden Bissett, of Deep Valley, Cody Piper, of New Freeport, and Matthew Wood, of Fairview, WV.; six siblings, Nyoka Sue Menear, of Morgantown, WV., Denise Piper, of Brave, Kim and Randy Piper, both of Morgantown, WV., Brenda Yoss, also of Morgantown, WV., and Tina Piper, of Morgantown, WV.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings, Betty Fortney, Sonny Piper, Virgil and Fred Johnson, and Rickie Jolliff.
