Bonna Jo Crouse

Bonna Jo Crouse, age 87, of Rogersville, PA, passed away at home on Thursday, January 26, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.

Born August 12, 1929, in Franklin Twp., PA, she is the daughter of the late Henry Austin “Flick” and Pauline Evelyn (Rose) Scott.

Bonna Jo graduated in 1946 from Center Township High School. She went on to receive her Bachelor of Arts in elementary education from Waynesburg College in 1965, the same year her son Doug graduated from high school. Bonna Jo then graduated from West Virginia University in 1967 with her Masters degree in reading. For over 26 years, she taught elementary education in the West Greene School District. Bonna Jo was a member of Rogersville United Methodist Church, where she was an organist for several years and former Trustee. She also was a former member of the Rogersville Christian Church. Bonna Jo was a former member of the Bowlby Library Board, Waynesburg, PA. She formerly was on the Waynesburg College Alumni Board of Trustees. A member of P.A.S.R. and Local W.G.A. of Retirees. Spending time with her family and enjoying her grandchildren was above all her greatest joy in life.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Edward Crouse, who she married on July 31, 1945; two children, Douglas Crouse, of Rogersville, PA, Lisa (Robert) Vitolo, of Rogersville, PA; one son in law Robert Evick of Waynesburg , PA.; Eight grandchildren, Ryan (Denese) Crouse, Robb (Melissa) Crouse, Paul (Anita) Vitolo, Luke (Charlotte) Vitolo, John (Chandra) Vitolo, Scott Evick, Andrew (Ashley) Evick and Jay (Yulia) Evick; great-grandchildren, Austin, Emma, Ty, Jayden and Logan Crouse, Dulce Vitolo, Bryce Butler, Vivian and Amelia Vitolo, Georgia Bess, Harrison Vitolo, Isaac Evick, ; one brother, Thomas R. (Cel) Scott of Uniontown, PA; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Paul Scott Crouse , daughter Paula Jo Evick, brother and sister in law, John and Peg Scott; sister and brother-in-law, Patsy Ruth (Thomas) McHenry; and a great-granddaughter Giovanna Vitolo.

Friends will be received on Sunday, January, 29, 2017 from 1 P.M.-8 P.M. at the Kesterson-Rush Funeral Home, LLC. 3275 W. Roy Furman Hwy., Rogersville, PA 15359. (724) 499-5181. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 30, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Dr. Donald P. Wilson, officiating. Burial will follow at Rosemont Cemetery, Center Twp., PA.
