Betty Sue Hixenbaugh, 69, of Waynesburg, Pa. and formerly of Oak Forest, died at 8:07 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2008 in her home following a 15 month battle with a cancer related illness. She was born October 2, 1938 in Waynesburg, Pa. a daughter of the late Stanley and Margaret Whyte Shoup and had resided in the Oak Forest area for 37 years prior to moving to Waynesburg in November 2007. Mrs. Hixenbaugh was a 1957 graduate of Waynesburg High School and was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in East View. She enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting and attending the Waynesburg and Carmichaels senior citizen centers and appreciated the company of her cats. Mrs. Hixenbaugh was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Waynesburg V.F.W. On April 26, 1966 she married Walter Benjamin Hixenbaugh, Sr. who died August 29, 2003. Surviving are four daughters, Marsha, wife of George Fields and Larinda, wife of Shannon Richter all of Holbrook, Lisa R. Orndoff of Hargus Creek (Center Twp.) and Gina, wife of Randy Clark of Rogersville; one son, Bryan Hixenbaugh of Oak Forest; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren. Deceased in addition to her husband and parents are a son, Randall L. Hixenbaugh who died April 20, 2005; a sister, Ruth Cox; two brothers, Robert and Kenneth Shoup. Mrs. Hixenbaugh was the last of her immediate family. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the First Assembly of God, Missions Fund, 4131 W. Roy Furman Hwy., Waynesburg, Pa. 15370.
